  • UTP Stage I (Foundation): Pre-university academic preparation
  • UTP Stage II (International Year One): Equivalent to SFU’s Year 1 across majors like Arts, Business Admin, Computing Science, Engineering Science, Environment, Health Science
  • Also offers a 2-year Associate of Arts Degree

Accommodation

Find a comfortable home: choose on-campus residence, homestay, or shared apartments.
  • On-Campus (SFU Residences): Single rooms with meal plans & utilities; CAD 1,000–1,500/month
  • Off-Campus Apartments: CAD 1,200–1,800/month
  • Homestay: CAD 950–1,200/month via vendors like Vanmates or Vancouver Central Homestay

Admission requirements

Understand what you need to qualify and begin your studies smoothly.
  • Direct entry: IELTS ≥ 6.5 (min 6.0 in R/W), TOEFL iBT ≥ 88, Duolingo ≥ 125
  • Integrated/Cornerstone pathways also available for slightly lower scores
  • Academic: High school completion for UTP Stage I or II; correspondence with transfer GPA to SFU
  • Application: Includes online form, proof of English, academic transcripts, tuition deposit; application and deferral fees apply
