About Rural Community Immigration Program (RCIP)

The Rural and Northern Immigration Pilot Program (RNIP) is a Canadian government initiative designed to attract skilled workers and professionals to smaller cities and rural communities across the country. Recognizing the economic importance of these regions, the government established RNIP to address labor shortages, boost local economies, and provide an easier pathway to permanent residency (PR) for students compared to larger cities.

Rural Community Immigration Program Requirements (Apply after graduation Immediately)

  1. Completed a program of at least 2 years
  2. Graduated within the last 18 months before applying for PR
  3. Lived in an RCIP-designated community for at least 16 months during the 2-year study period

OR

  1. Completed a Master’s degree program (duration of 2 years or less)
  2. Studied full-time throughout the program
  3. Graduated within the last 18 months before applying for PR
  4. Lived in an RCIP-designated community for the entire duration of the program

    Recommended: Take CELPIP, as it is accepted for both admission and PR applications

    Steps After Graduation & PR Application Process 🔍

    • Secure employment within 90 days after graduation to qualify for PR under the New Brunswick Provincial Nominee Program (NBPNP).
    • ✅ Applicants must be between 19-55 years old at the time of application.
    • ✅ Must have completed a minimum 10-month program from an eligible private career college.
    • English Requirement: CELPIP General 5

    If you have not yet met the English language requirements, you can enroll in the English Pathway Program at McKenzie College to improve your proficiency before starting your studies.
